Vegetarian Society comes to Kauai
May 7, 2007

The Vegetarian Society of Hawaii has just begun sponsoring a monthly potluck on the Island of Kauai. The potlucks take place the first Sunday of every month at the Kapaa Neighborhood Center from Noon to 3pm. Admission is free if you bring a dish, $5 donation if you choose to come without a dish. A prize is given for the best recipe. Yesterday, Jennifer and I did a demo with recipes and techniques from the 7 MINUTE CHEF e-book. The event was filmed by Mark and Debra of EarthHarmonyHome, for Ho’ike, Kauai Community Television.
(We have been partnering quite a bit with Earth Harmony Home lately. On their site you will find interviews and resources to support your growing desire to live in deeper harmony with the ever evolving world around you. You will also find several podcasts with members of the Blossoming Lotus. We have also been working on 7 Minute Chef videos together. As soon as the videos are ready for viewing, we will let everyone know.)
The Hawaii Vegetarian Society has over 2000 members and is one of the largest Veg Societys in the country. Next months potluck will be on Sunday June 3rd and will feature a presentation by Mele Abrams on on raising vegan children. You will learn why the vegan diet is a healthy lifestyle choice for children. She will be sharing some of her childrens favorite recipes.
